Catching Up and back off the back burner.

Whew. It's been awhile, and we're not counting the last few spats of just posting painting updates and using this blog as a glorified image folder. Things have been quite busy between commission painting, working on personal projects, and trying to get myself to the hobby that I want to do. As this year is starting to wrap up, let's take a look at how I foresee my 2016 to be:

- Warmachine/Hordes. Oh, yes! Oh, yes, indeed! Warmachine has been the one game I've never completely stopped playing for the last few years, and it continues to climb up my list of preferred games to play (even with it sitting at the top!). Highly competitive and extremely fun, I want to take 2016 to the tournament circuit and will be hitting Warmachine harder than ever. As you may have noticed, Circle Orboros has taken my fancy again, and I'll be playing that Faction pretty much exclusively as I prepare for tournaments and work out lists. I want to meddle in Retribution of Scryah, too, but I'm waiting for a Journeyman League and the right timing. So much on my plate, another army is not the answer regardless of what game it's for!

- Warhammer 30k/40k/Horus Heresy. I've mixed back into the 40k gaming with my lust for the hobby side of things. Nothing really feels like it matches the customization and conversion potential that GW offers, and I missed that side of things. Games have largely been avoided as I still have some serious issues with the playing side of things, but maybe that'll change. I am having quite a blast participating in a campaign my local area is having. If you're a fan of Orks, conversions, and tutorials/guides, expect this place to blow up with content soon. I've worked out the kinks in my battle reports and have video ones on the horizon, as well. I'm all for having fun where fun can be had, and 40k isn't so bad once you recognize it's flaws as a competitive game and just try to go with what will be fun. My competitive game plate is full, anyways.

- X-Wing. I've re-purchased miniatures and have a good bit to test out some serious Scum and Villainy lists, but don't expect anything major. There is a lot of local campaigns popping up that I don't have time to participate in, and that takes away from pick up game opportunities (since the campaigners would rather play in campaign games). But once the new Star Wars movie hits, expect me to do some ship re-paints and whatnot.

- Infinity. Still a fantastic game, but I've kind of been keeping on the down-low recently. My Haqqislam still has a ton of models that want to be built and painted, and I have quite a few lists that are a lot of fun to play. Since I had taken up the mantle of "go to Infinity" guy and tournament organizer in my local area, it kind of killed a lot of the joy I had for the system, unfortunately. Missing out on a lot of opportunities to actually play hurt my infatuation as a side effect. I'm hoping that turns around, but with my 40k campaign taking up my free time playing, I'm not sure where that leaves Infinity.

- Malifaux. Lovely models, great fluff, and I love my army. But I don't have many people to play. Don't expect much from this, but if I get free time here and there I'll gladly paint up what I have ready to go. I like painting armies in spurts, so each army stays pretty consistent in paint quality while still being evolved from the previous army. Once I turn to my Malifaux stuff, I want some serious time to make them look as they should - creepy and beautiful.

- Blog and it's future. I'm going to return to serious blogging, or start serious blogging depending on how you look at things. Paint logs, tutorials, battle reports, and the like. I'll plan for one update post a week at least, with bonus posts being battle reports/tutorials/showcase items.

With a month and a half before 2016, I'm hoping to finish out my eKromac list on the painting front (almost everything is built and ready to go), so I can just supplement painting as I get models I need for my steamroller pair (which I'm still thinking about). Ideally this leaves me fully painted with Warmachine, so free to hobby it up with 40k and Infinity when my free time allows.

Tagged on to my new wife and us saving up for a house and working on a family and stuff, all of this is still not the priority. It's a crazy time, and I felt like I had too many games on my plate when I had as much free time as I'd like in a week. This is all subject to change, but this is all where I currently stand.
