Start up month.

January is turning out to be a lot less about painting, and more about prep and re-organizing my collections. Nothing wrong with that, and I've been quite busy, but not with too much to update about. A few nice things happened recently, so here we go:

Thousand Sons
--------------------

Pink Horrors are coming along, but I've been very distracted with a new package. My Forge World came in the mail, and I'm preparing to assemble the contents: Spartan Assault Tank, Deimos Vindicator with Laser Destroyer Array, Dreadclaw, Typhon Heavy Siege Tank, and x3 Rapier Batteries (all quad mortars). That's quite a bit of tank, and minus infantry, feels like a solid start to all things 30k (and how I plan to play 40k).
My 40k list will most likely change, as rumor has it Chaos is showing up really soon, but in what manner or form is still up in the air. Will it be Khorne-style Age of Sigmar stuff for Tzeentch? That'd be fine with me, as Khorne got some very 40k-friendly models/cultists out of the lot. But for all we know it could be Slaanesh or Nurgle themed. Tzeentch was oddly missing from the Starter Bundle stuff, with Nurgle and Khorne being represented, so with Slaanesh's future up in the air, my hope is for Tzeentch.
But then again, it could be the very much anticipated Chaos Space Marine update. That'd change my overall plan, as Forge World models are always missing from formations and Decurion style detachments. However, if I can assemble and paint my Forge World items before Chaos comes out, it would allow me to look on a new Chaos codex will extremely fresh eyes, and assemble and paint a brand new list. A Chaos update could be a great win for my hobbying, as long as they don't get the Ork-style update.

Frostgrave
--------------

My friend and I plan on playing Frostgrave tomorrow evening. It's a pretty simple ruleset, with most of the rules in the scenarios and campaign play. My local area loves a good rpg-style campaign, and with Warhammer Fantasy dead and Age of Sigmar being a bad game no one wants to play, it's a good excuse for people to use models they haven't brought out in awhile. The game seems really nice, so hopefully the first game goes well. I'm a huge fan of a game that let's me pick and choose my own models from any gaming line, because the better a model looks the more it deserves to be on a tabletop somewhere.

Infinity
----------

My Tohaa arrived. All of it. The entire Tohaa line is now in my possession. I've built enough for a list, which I got to play on Sunday. Unfortunately I was a huge cheater, and overlooked that Rasail's don't have the Fireteam: Tohaa rule, so my "win" wasn't deserved at all. It's something that wasn't caught until too late, which is a bummer. I expect quite a few more games in the next few months, and want to hit the ITS 2016 season pretty hard if there are nearby tournaments I can attend. I plan to run some events locally in the very least.
I've been doing a lot of research and trying to figure out a way to get some solid, well made modular buildings, and do-it-yourself scatter terrain. Running tournaments will require a good amount of terrain, and the more that can be produced at the cheapest of prices is going to be the goal.
