Due to a pretty big storm that hit my area, places around have been closed for awhile. Unfortunately, that also includes my USPS locations. I bought some basing materials and other figures to get my army pumping out, but they won't arrive until tomorrow at the earliest. It would be today, though, but since today is now a holiday....well, mail just isn't moving. And with the back up of mail around, there's no guarantee it'll all get out tomorrow, including my needed packages. So. Oh, well.
I did get the chance to get Tester's Dullcote, though. And I tossed that on my bases to reduce shine, well...hoping to reduce it. Did it work? Oh yes, yes it did. My recently finished Jarl and Troll Impaler both have been hit with the Dullcote and don't look any different than when I finished painting them. That's some amazing stuff. A bit expensive though, but completely worth it.
While I have finished Jarl and my Troll Impaler, I'm not sure I'm content with how they came out. I'm fine with the paint job in general, as it's always a learning experience and an evolving skill, but the skin is a bit darker than I originally envisioned my army. I'll leave them as is, probably, until I work out a lighter skin tone on the next batch of trolls I paint up. Once I'm satisfied with a color and technique, I'll go ahead and fix the Jarl and Impaler. Should have a ton of pictures this Friday, and hopefully a battle report as well!
