As you can see, there's still some flock to be added, but waiting for a few more final touches to complete the bases while I finish painting up the models to attach to them. I plan on the green hole to be a puddle with some leaves overflowing into it.
The bases were painted using the following steps:
1. Prime White
2. Gun Corps Brown coat on dirt areas.
3. Bloodtracker brown on stonework and tree areas.
4. Drybrush Frostbite on stonework.
5. Wash with Agrax earthshade (everything).
6. Light drybrush of Frostbite on stonework.
7. Light drybrush of Menoth White Highlight on dirt and stonework.
8. Paint Menoth White Highlight on stems and bottoms of mushrooms.
9. Dark red on tops of mushrooms, followed by painting the circles on the mushrooms with menoth white highlight and then morrow white overtop of that - leaving a little menoth white highlight showing depending on my lighting direction.
10. Paint trunk. I used gun corps brown and hammerfall khaki to draw lines down the trunk, with hammerfall khaki filling the center of the dead trunk area with a quick and somewhat heavy nuln oil wash. Quick highlights on the centers of the trunk's sides with hammerfall khaki.
