With reasons described below, I've decided to switch up a bit and have another army as a part of how I play my wargames. Dark Eldar don't seem too competitive on the surface, but they should be fun to play and wicked fun to build and paint. If they end up being competitive later on, then awesome, but I'm just in it for a relaxed Faction to just enjoy and bounce off the playstyle of the Grey Knights/Inquisition.

I lied a little, as that's actually 1,499. I have a few ideas to beef it up to 1,850 and 2,000, but I'll see how things turn out. I'm just going to experiment with the Coven formation as a meaty warlord bunker and a relatively large threat against a lot of things out there. It's a sizable amount of points, so if it works I'll be having a blast, and if it doesn't then I free up a ton of points to invest in some pretty cool options Dark Eldar have. So no real loss. But I've got to start somewhere.
Adding another Ravager and Razorwing Jetfighter is probably the first step in growing this. After that it's tossing a Webway Portal on the Archon, filling out his "old" 9-man unit to 10 and adding a Splinter Cannon, and then seeing what kind of squad I can kit out to deep strike for whatever I need to do - but I'd imagine I'd need some solid heavy vehicle popping..so if points permit I could see a 6-man Trueborn squad with special weapons and heavy weapons, or just some Scourges (but they compete with the Reavers, and I think the Reavers fill the playstyle I want a bit better).
My friend is currently trying to sell his Dark Eldar army, and while I probably won't buy the entire thing, I can probably grab a few for proxies until my stuff is together. Which means I'll be shooting for a 1,500 point game this Thursday, and hopefully get a Battle Report up by the weekend. Let's see what kind of pain this stuff can do!
