If you build it, they will die!

I hope I get to crush my foes against the serrated blade flying out from the darkness (-coughcough- Dark Eldar), because I probably just got plastic cement poisoning building so much so quickly in such a not well ventilated area. But 1,500 points is all together. Now I just start the process of basing what needs basing and scraping off mold lines. Sure, sure... I should have taken the mold lines off during the building process, but that's menial and menial drives me insane. Breaking it down will be much better for me in the long run.

So what's a boy to look forward to with 2 1/2 months left with Dark Eldar on the hobby slate?

Honestly, I'm already a tad down about the Dark Artisan formation, although I'll be happy to play it first. 5 Talos with a Scout move and Ichor Injectors? Now that's where I think it's at! Expensive, but downright deadly as all sorts of hell. But that won't be happening for me anytime soon. I splurged a bit more on some Dark Eldar stuff, and this leaves me with almost 2,500 points before upgrades (artificial ones, at least - like Night Shields, Shadow Fields, and whatever else rhymes with "__ields").

I spent a good while on Monday creating custom foam for my army so it fits in my heavy duty toolbox (what I normally transport my stuff in). I made a 3" tall tray to fit 40 infantry and my 12 reavers - with room to spare for some more Reavers in the future, and a 6" tall tray for my three Ravagers and two Raiders. I'm not sure more than two Raiders will ever really be necessary, so I'll just need another case for fliers, a few more infantry, venoms, and talos/cronos/whatever else. Not too bad, and much less expensive than purchasing official cases that still aren't good enough at protecting such customizable models that 40k typically has.

On the painting front, there's little progress. Finally ground out the large cultist commission and am getting ready to get started on a few other projects. I spent 2 hours cleaning and practicing the air brush to really nice results. I can't wait to really sit down and get that thing spraying some paint on my Dark Eldar. I have colors picked out and need to make sure they are the proper consistency when thinning them down so they will work well. I'm off next Monday and have a long day of painting planned to really start getting through all these miniatures.

The hope is to have a game tomorrow night and on Saturday evening. That'd make two battle reports to hash out.
