June = Infinity.

I had a very good game of Infinity yesterday, and took some time to plan out re-adjusting my approach to Infinity. Ariadna has been very good to me, but it's not fitting with what I want to get out of the game. Playstyle-wise it's still top notch for me, but I'd rather stick to around 10 models. To divert my attention from the Mad M-Ork style 40k list, I decided to just bring that over to Infinity and play Haqqislam. I've easily made a lot of lists that fit all of the parameters I want, including using only what I feel are the awesome looking models from the range.

So instead of June being a bit of a dead zone for my hobbying, I'm going to take the time to work on my Infinity terrain and paint up my 12 models of Haqqislam as I test that Faction out. It's a good idea to switch to this faction as very few players play them locally and it'll help everyone grow accustomed to what they are capable of when we start traveling for tournaments.

But for now I'm trying to not get too excited or revved up, as I typically shift focus to one game at a time and I still need to finish painting a ton of Cygnar and be prepared for the tournament coming up.

Mad MORK!

Mad Max is a great movie. Stellar, even. It was very worthwhile, and my girlfriend and I were in such an ovation over the film that we are going to purchase the Mad Max triligy, watch them all, and then go again. I've seen the Mad Max's before, but she hasn't, and even Thunderdome is the only one I can remember anything about.

But the entire time I was in the theater I could only hear one thing. WAAAAAAAGH! The environment, vehicles, and flavor of the movie fits with the Orks so well, that converting up an Ork army in a Mad Max flavor is just - a beautiful idea to me. It's very probably that it'd just be "Orks" in theme, with most models being of whatever part of the range fits whatever concept I get. Next month, the month after my Cygnar painting spree and tournament, has me in a hobby dead zone. So I'll take advantage of that to push out some Mad Mork stuff, and see if I like it. I should clarify that I still don't expect to play the army, as I'll shoot for a 500-750 point "list" to have fun with conversion and painting. My local area doesn't play at that level, and Orks are still pretty "meh", even before the stupid power spike the latest stuff has brought into the fold. But I'm not looking at the game, I'm looking at the hobby/models. It's exciting, and exciting is good.

So that's next month. Once my current Cygnar is finished I'll work towards some terrain, tables, and maybe some of the Orks mentioned above. But I also need to play around with my new camera. It is supposed to have HD Video support. The downside is it's a battery-based camera, so I'm not sure how long it can capture video before it dies. It could be more than enough or just not enough. Either way, I'll be working on video battle reports. That's the next stage of this blog.
